Parasite Eve
As promised, the first draft of the Mannequin Queen is completed. It was a wild ride from start to finish, and it felt great to be unabashedly creative with my work. Now, I'll be diving head-first into revisions and massage this story into a more cohesive whole. To get into the head space of this vibrant world, I usually play music that vibes with the themes of the story.
"Parasite Eve" by Bring Me The Horizon, is one such song. It was published during COVID times and many of the analogies given by the artist refer to that time period (how, to think we can now call it as such). But to me, there's an immediate connection to the second book's villain.
The Mannequin Queen is an AI sentient being that rules over her legion of mannequins. These are not the same fashion-forward, plastic-molded statues that grace our shopping malls and boutique stores. They are robots designed by the Ancient's for their war that ended their glass tower era. The Mannequin Queen, still running on past set objectives, sends them out from Silo 51 to locate their latest test subject, Aramis Feres.
Go ahead and give it a listen. I certainly will as I edit this book.
As Always, thank you for reading and for all of your support!
